Experienced Customer Service Representative – Insurance

Salary: $55,000–$75,000 annually, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, customer-focused Insurance Customer Service Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience, strong relationship-building skills, and a proven ability to provide exceptional service while identifying opportunities to better protect customers.

Previous State Farm experience is a strong plus.

This position is ideal for an experienced insurance professional who is fully licensed, understands the importance of customer retention and account management, and can confidently assist customers with their insurance and financial services needs.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and timely follow-up on customer requests.
  • Conduct needs-based insurance reviews to identify coverage gaps and opportunities.
  • Assist customers with policy questions, coverage changes, billing inquiries, claims-related questions, and other service needs.
  • Review existing accounts and recommend appropriate insurance products and coverage based on customer needs.
  • Support customer retention through proactive communication and account follow-up.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and refer or market appropriate products and services.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and documentation.
  • Work closely with the agent and other team members to achieve agency service, retention, and production goals.
  • Maintain compliance with insurance licensing requirements, agency procedures, and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of insurance industry experience.
  • Active Florida 2-20 General Lines License – required.
  • Active Florida 2-15 Life, Health & Variable Annuity License – required.
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance products and coverage.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable learning and working with agency management systems and other computer applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-focused.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous State Farm agency experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience servicing and retaining an established book of business.
  • Experience conducting insurance reviews and identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Familiarity with State Farm systems, products, and agency processes is a plus.
